Podcast 10: External validation initially helps, but ultimately, this is your own journey!

We need to receive encouragement that we can do this!

In my journey sharing what I’m learning and growing as a person and in the knowledge of my Lord and my faith, I have been working on a book and towards being an author and starting a blog/podcast while pursuing life coaching courses and certification, I’ve had to learn how to self-motivate to stay the course.

What began with a prayer, followed by a confirmation dream in 2016, was realized as an invitation to begin this journey when God sent a friend, a business and life coach, to ignite this calling. I thought I love sharing my faith and lessons learned from personal growth and spiritual maturity. Sharing on my social media pages has been a natural outlet for me, so I figured, how hard could this be? Well, it’s a lot harder than I expected. I love it, though, and while it’s taking me a few years, God willing, I’ll finish this assignment.

Still, I can’t help but wonder: Is this going to help meet a hunger or need in the world around me? Then, I heard this quote today that encouraged me to keep going:

“The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet.” — Frederick Buechner

Consider this your external motivation. I hope this encourages you to press forward despite the challenges. I hope this reminds you that God’s confirmation—whether through dreams, prayer, or others sent to ignite their path—provides the validation needed to keep going. I hope this affirms that the only validation indeed required is from God and our inner conviction. Keep up the fantastic work – this is your journey!
